What we are hiring for:
We are currently hiring multiple regular full-time Direct Support Professional / Night Attendants for our Supported Independent Living program in Sarnia Ontario.
Direct Support Professionals make a difference in peoples lives by providing support to people with developmental disabilities in all activities of daily living in their homes and the community and by fostering independence and personal conjunction with the person their team and family/friends Direct Support Professionals are responsible for planning and overseeing provision of support along with creating skill development opportunities for people supported in aspiration to reach their life goals.
What you will need:
- Valid G or G2 class license and reliable vehicle
- Be willing to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Current certification in First Aid/CPR required
- Current certification in NVCPI or willing to obtain
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is an asset
- Be comfortable with providing personal care and attending to medical needs of individuals
- Knowledge and experience supporting people with mental health/illness
- Adaptable to varying complex support needs
- Mental Health First Aid Safe Talk and Trauma Informed Care an asset
- Knowledge of community resources an asset
Compensation and scheduling:
- $18.00 per hour for asleep hours. $23.59 per hour or current step of successful candidates Direct Support Professional grid for awake hours.
- Regular Full-time 35 hours per week including days afternoons weekends or nights
