Role Description
Arcadis is seeking a motivated Intern to join our Rail and Transit Group supporting the design and delivery of rail and transit infrastructure projects for Transit Authorities in BC. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience working alongside multidisciplinary teams and technical specialists on innovative transportation projects. Youll contribute to real-world projects learn about the full design lifecycle and develop skills in engineering project coordination and digital tools within a collaborative team environment.

Role Accountabilities
As a Rail and Transit Intern you will:
  • Support the design process for rail and transit infrastructure projects from early planning through to detailed design.
  • Assist incoordinating inputs from civil structural systems architectural and environmental disciplines.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports drawings presentations and other deliverables.
  • Participate in project meetings workshops and presentations gaining exposure to client and stakeholder engagement.
  • Learn about industry standards codes and best practices relevant to rail and transit projects (e.g. TLBCC CSA NFPA 130 Transport Canada).
  • Help with quality assurance reviews and support risk management activities under supervision.
  • Use digital engineering tools (such as BIM and digital twins) and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers designers and project coordinators building your professional network and skills.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors program in Civil Mechanical Electrical Systems Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Strong interest in transportation rail or transit infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with engineering design software (AutoCAD Revit or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite is an asset.
  • Eagerness to learn take initiative and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Previous co-op or internship experience is a plus but not required.

The salary range for this position is $25-28/hour. The base salary represents Arcadis hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors such as location skills experience and qualification for the role.
