Job Summary:
We are seeking a Data Governance Specialist with deep technical expertise in Informatica OnPremise and Advanced Cloud Services (ACS) and experience with Alation Cloud. This role focuses on enabling enterprise migration from OnPremise Informatica to cloud-based ACS ensuring proper governance capability mapping and adoption of best practices across data management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Migration & Capability Mapping
- Lead functional and technical analysis of existing OnPrem Informatica capabilities and map them to equivalent or enhanced functionalities in Informatica ACS.
- Identify feature gaps dependencies and required configuration changes during cloud migration.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to define migration priorities governance impacts and adoption milestones.
- Create migration documentation capability comparison matrices and readiness assessments.
- Provide guidance on refining or redesigning governance processes during cloud migration.
Data Governance & Tool Utilization
- Use Alation Cloud to catalog metadata manage glossaries enrich lineage and support governance workflows.
- Ensure metadata consistency proper stewardship ownership and alignment of data definitions before and after migration.
- Support governance controls quality checks and catalog updates for migrated datasets or pipelines.
- Promote best practices for governance data discoverability and responsible data usage across the organization.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with business stewards technology teams and project leads to communicate migration impacts and governance requirements.
- Provide functional expertise to ensure cloud capabilities meet compliance stewardship and operational governance standards.
- Support training onboarding and communication efforts related to ACS and Alation adoption.
Documentation & Reporting
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation on governance processes migration impacts and tool capability mapping.
- Prepare reports and dashboards tracking catalog adoption lineage completeness and metadata quality progress.
- Track and communicate governance maturity improvements enabled by cloud capabilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong functional and technical knowledge of Informatica OnPrem tools and Informatica ACS cloud services.
- Hands-on functional expertise in Alation Cloud for cataloging metadata management and stewardship workflows.
- Experience in capability mapping functional assessment or migration support from on-premise to cloud.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks metadata management data lineage and data quality concepts.
- Excellent communication collaboration and documentation skills.
Required Skills:
Experience (Years): 4-6 Essential Skills: Work with project teams throughout the organization to design implement and manage CDN infrastructure using Akamai to ensure high availability performance and scalability for customer facing applications and business processes. Handle multiple priorities and assignments with excellence and precision. Be a part of a 24/7/365 organization (some after hours support is expected as part of normal on-call rotation). Directly support line of business development teams provide guidance to them on implementation and changes for customer facing applications Develop and maintain security protocols and measures to protect CDN infrastructure from cyber threats. Monitor and analyze network performance identifying and resolving issues to optimize content delivery of critical applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Akamai CDN solutions with existing systems and applications. Collaborate with information security teams to implement DDoS protection strategies and other security measures in the CDN. Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams regarding CDN and security best practices. Work closely with vendor and professional service teams on delivery related activities and strategy. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field. OR similar work experience. Strong understanding of network protocols (HTTP/HTTPS DNS TCP/IP). Proven experience as a CDN Engineer or similar role with a strong focus on -depth knowledge of Content Delivery Network technologies including caching load balancing and content optimization. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Experience supporting 24/7/365 customer facing applications at enterprise scale. Awareness and experience with cybersecurity tools and practices such as firewalls intrusion detection/prevention systems and encryption. Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g. Python Bash) a plus. Relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP CEH) are a plus but not required.
