A skilled and experienced business analyst with cross-functional and cross-domain knowledge and experience to provide expertise in the delivery of security and IT related projects at AltaLink.
Effectively collect document and steward business requirements to:
- Deliver key business analysis artifacts using best practices and tools for the design and development gap analysis
- Identify scope benefits constraints and risks
- Work with the business to understand and outline the business and process areas that have opportunities and constraints
- Understand the current standards policies and procedures and in the context of those the implications of any recommendations
- Perform detailed analysis of business problems for use in the solution design
- Identify where system use and data flows are not aligned with existing process
- Document and diagram the existing environment and data-flows
- Provide expertise to Program and Project Managers in the design planning and governance of business processes
- Facilitate sessions with stakeholders to drive out requirements
- Gather non-functional requirements such as security capacity performance and availability from the business
- Act as a liaison between business and technical resources
- Other project activities as assigned
Required Skills Knowledge and Abilities:
- Degree diploma or certification in Accounting Business Computer Science Software Engineering Business Analysis or related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years experience doing business analysis
- Ability to express complex project concepts effectively both verbally and in writing to diverse audiences
- Strong facilitation negotiation problem-solving and mentoring skills
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills including presentations
- Knowledge of Business Analysis best practices.
- Strong customer service focus with the proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members stakeholders and management.
- Ability to translate requirements into processes and controls
- Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with all levels of the organization through intuitive business insight and personal credibility; this includes the ability to make recommendations and influence outcomes.
- IT methodology and/or process implementation background.
