Job Summary
Our residential construction division at Tomlinson Infrastructure is looking for a skilled labourer. This candidate will work under the supervision of a foreman setting grades checking elevations dumping trucks working with heavy equipment and have the opportunity to run small equipment on the jobsite.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to read construction drawings pull information to set proper grades.
- Proficient with the operating of a rotating laser level and be able to work with GPS would be an asset
- Ability to read plans and mathematically inclined to accurately complete many functions of the job
- Installation of stakes as required for layout purposes
- Measures distances from reference points to locate boundaries of construction site
- Ability to work in and implement safe work practices and contribute to a safe work environment
- Have an understanding of the issues involving ground disturbances
- Ability to work in and implement safe work practices and contribute to safe work environment.
- Understanding of fine grading
- Work as a team with other crew members on daily activities of the jobsite.
- Ability to grade basements to USF
- Positive and respectful attitude
- Attention to detail
- Experience working on construction sites is considered an asset
- Ability to lift heavy loads
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be able Standing for extended periods of time bending crouching kneeling
- Work on a construction site.
- Repetitive tasks
- Lifting heavy objects in construction of hardscapes.
- Long hours required night and weekend work required.
- Exposure to all elements snow cold rain heat etc
COMPENSATION INFORMATION:
The expected salary range for this position is $26.00 - $36.00 per hour. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience and will be per the collective agreement.
