Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate and efficient processing of various seafood species (e.g. salmon halibut cod) including cleaning filleting trimming and portioning.
- Operate and maintain processing equipment in accordance with safety and hygiene protocols.
- Follow strict quality control procedures to ensure consistency freshness and compliance with food safety standards (e.g. HACCP FDA and Alaska Department of Health regulations).
- Monitor and document processing metrics including yield waste and product specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency response procedures.
- Support sanitation and cleaning routines to maintain a clean compliant and safe processing environment.
- Assist in training new team members and share best practices to improve team performance.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 months or 1 season of hands-on experience in seafood processing within Alaska.
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced physically demanding environment.
- Strong understanding of seafood handling processing techniques and food safety standards.
- Ability to stand for extended periods lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive motions.
- Familiarity with processing equipment such as fillet knives slicers and conveyors.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality and consistency.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality with the ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings and weekends.
- Willingness to work in cold wet and variable conditions typical of Alaskan seafood processing facilities.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to remote processing sites if required.
