The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) Space Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Ground and Mission Systems Engineering (GMSE) is looking for a Senior Ground Systems Engineer (Level 5) to join our team in El Segundo California to work on the Evolved Strategic Satellite Communication (ESS) Program.
The selected candidate will support the Evolved Strategic Satellite Communications (ESS) program a key component of the nations nuclear command control and communications (NC3) ESS program is designed to provide protected connectivity crucial for maintaining strategic communication capabilities.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops In Band Command and Control (IBC2) software requirements
Defines and develops test requirements test plans procedures and schedules
Integrates In Band Command and Control software into ESS system
Leads execution analysis and preparation of test results to support verification and validation
Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical functional and program interfaces
Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture
Leads analyses for affordability safety reliability maintainability testability human systems integration survivability vulnerability susceptibility system security regulatory certification product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success
Leads develops maintains and identifies improvements the planning organization implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes tools risk issues opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes
Interface with cross-functional teams senior leadership and external customers
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology) Computer Science Data Science Mathematics Physics Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
10 years of experience with Systems Engineering processes and principles such as system architecture interface definition and requirements definition decomposition verification and validation
Experience with Command and Control (C2) software systems for Ground Systems
Experience developing requirements for satellite operations
Experience performing software and systems integration
Experience performing requirements management using DOORS
Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 years of experience in Ground Systems Engineering
2 years of experience leading or managing an engineering project or team
Experience working with Government customers
