Single Point of Contact (SPOC) Advisor

Location: Devon (excluding Plymouth and Torbay with the hub of your choice as your base)

Working Hours: 37 hours
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: 25857 - 28930

An exciting opportunity has arisen due to service growth for a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) Advisor covering Devon (excluding Plymouth and Torbay).

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain experience within the Drug and Alcohol Treatment sector with full support supervision and training provided.

About the Role

As a SPOC Advisor you will provide an efficient effective and compassionate response to everyone who contacts the service including professionals service users family members and carers.

You will often be the first point of contact for individuals seeking support. This requires excellent communication skills a calm and professional manner and a genuinely empathic approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all calls and emails coming into the service responding in an efficient calm and professional manner

  • Gather accurate and relevant information using excellent communication skills

  • Undertake initial assessments and complete screening tool referrals as required

  • Contact individuals referred into the service to complete screening processes

  • Provide basic harm reduction advice to service users where appropriate

  • Maintain accurate and appropriate records in line with confidentiality policies and clinical governance frameworks

  • Work within established care pathways and referral procedures

  • Communicate effectively within the team the wider organisation and with partner agencies

  • Positively contribute to team meetings and collaborative working

  • Work in accordance with all relevant legislation policies procedures and guidelines (both internal and external)

You will also:

  • Participate in continuing professional development

  • Engage in clinical supervision performance reviews and required training

  • Develop and review your personal development plan with support from your line manager

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference and who believes that fair chances for all should be at the heart of everything they do.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be confident speaking on the telephone and in person

  • Have a calm understanding and empathetic nature

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills

  • Have experience in general administrative duties

  • Ideally have experience in a customer-facing or customer service role

This role involves speaking with service users about sensitive and potentially distressing information. Applicants should be aware that some disclosures may be triggering in nature.
