TPF Recruitment are seeking a newly qualified Audit Senior to join our Top 20 clients established audit team.

This role is critical to delivering high-quality financial audits across a diverse client base including private businesses and listed companies. As an Audit Senior you will lead key phases of audit engagements from planning to completion applying UK GAAP and IFRS with precision and integrity. Youll play a central role in ensuring compliance with auditing standards mentoring junior staff and maintaining rigorous quality control. This position offers a dynamic growth-focused environment where technical expertise leadership and professional development are highly valued. With strong client interaction and cross-functional collaboration youll contribute directly to the firms reputation for excellence in audit and financial assurance.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead full-cycle audit engagements from planning to reporting ensuring timely delivery and compliance with UK GAAP IFRS and auditing standards (ISA/UK Audit Standards).
  • Execute complex audit procedures including revenue recognition financial instrument valuation and critical accounting estimates.
  • Supervise and mentor junior audit team members providing technical guidance feedback and support for professional growth.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and design targeted audit strategies based on client-specific risks and industry dynamics.
  • Maintain strict quality control throughout the audit lifecycle ensuring accurate documentation compliance and adherence to firm policies.
  • Prepare review and finalize audit working papers management letters and reporting deliverables with clarity and precision.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client finance teams and external advisors resolving queries and facilitating smooth information flow.
  • Leverage advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables VLOOKUP macros) and Microsoft Word skills to build financial models analyse data and produce high-impact reports.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing through training sessions technical updates and participation in firm-wide improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with tax teams on integrated engagements supporting compliance reviews and cross-functional audit requirements.


Requirements

Audit Senior - Central London
  • ACA or ACCA qualification with a strong foundation in audit standards and financial reporting.
  • Minimum 3 years of post-qualification audit experience in a reputable firm or corporate audit environment.
  • Proven track record managing end-to-end audit engagements across multiple industries and business sizes.

Required Skills:

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related discipline; ACA ACCA or equivalent professional qualification required. Progressive audit experience including at least 5 years in a senior or management capacity. Proven track record auditing social housing organisations including Registered Providers (RPs) housing associations and other Not For Profit entities. Deep knowledge of public sector accounting grant funding compliance and regulatory oversight (e.g. Regulator of Social Housing Local Authority reporting frameworks). Strong grasp of financial reporting standards internal control frameworks and risk assessment techniques. Exceptional leadership communication and client management abilities with a proven ability to influence stakeholders. Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities meet tight deadlines and maintain quality under pressure. Proficiency in audit tools such as CaseWare TeamMate and Microsoft Office Suite. Willingness to travel across the UK to support client engagements as needed. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying ahead of industry and regulatory trends.


Required Education:

You will be ACA/ACCA qualified with a career background and strength within social housing audit developed within an accountancy practice firm environment.
