Job Summary
Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced and highly capable Private Household Chef to support a high-end client family based on the west coast of Barbados. This role focuses primarily on preparing high-quality nutritious meals for children with specific dietary requirements. The successful candidate will be confident working in a private household environment able to operate independently and maintain consistently high standards while adapting to the evolving needs of the family.
This is an urgent requirement (immediate start in April 2026) on a temporary basis which may convert to a permanent role for the right candidate.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare and deliver breakfast lunch and dinner for children daily.
Develop and execute balanced creative menus within strict vegan and gluten-free guidelines
Ensure all meals are nutritionally appropriate visually appealing and child-friendly
Work efficiently and independently within a private kitchen environment
Take direction from the family and senior household staff regarding preferences routines and dietary needs
Maintain exceptional hygiene organisation and food safety standards at all times
Manage kitchen ingredient preparation and daily service with consistency
Adapt menus and dishes based on feedback and changing requirements
Requirements
Proven experience as a private chef development chef or senior chef in a high-standard environment.
Strong understanding of plant-based cuisine and gluten-free cooking (essential)
Ability to produce nutritionally balanced meals for children without compromising on quality or flavor.
Confident working both independently and as part of a wider household team.
Highly organised disciplined and able to manage time effectively across long shifts.
Flexible adaptable and comfortable in a dynamic private household setting.
Strong communication skills with a professional and discreet approach.
Creative yet practical approach to childrens food.
Strong attention to detail and consistency.
Positive attitude and willingness to take direction.
High level of professionalism and discretion.
