Job Summary: | The Department of Health Systems Management and Policy in the Colorado School of Public Health invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position as endowed Associate Professor or Professor with a focus on child health policy. We seek candidates with deep expertise in health policy health services research and/or health economics who will advance scientific knowledge about the health systems healthcare delivery models and public health policies that advance childrens health and wellbeing. Relevant areas of expertise include health system organization and delivery science; valuebased healthcare; implementation science; healthcare data science and AI; Medicaid and health insurance coverage; decision analysis and economic evaluation; political and public policy dynamics; informing or guiding policy processes and outcomes at local state and federal levels; and the integration of health and social services to address social determinants of health. The successful candidate will develop and grow productive partnerships with relevant clinical scientific educational and policy organizations related to childrens health on campus in the state nationally and/or internationally. The candidate will leverage these relationships to lead rigorous externally funded research that contributes to the departments mission to advance systems and policies that improve the quality of life and wellbeing of children and their families. Incumbent will teach advise and mentor students in one or more of the departments graduate degree programs. Applicants should have exceptional methodological skills relevant to public health and/or public policy and health services research a strong record of scholarly publications success in obtaining extramural research funding and experience in translating research evidence to support clinical policy and administrative decision-making. Applicants also should have deep experience in graduate-level teaching and student advising with an ability to foster supportive learning environments for students. The Department of Health Systems Management and Policy supports a multidisciplinary group of research-intensive faculty members and offers graduate education through M.P.H and Ph.D. programs in health policy and health services research. Faculty enjoy rich opportunities for collaboration with numerous academic and clinical units affiliated with the $7 billion state of the art Anschutz Medical Campus including the CU School of Medicine CU College of Nursing and other health professions schools the UCHealth system an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center Childrens Hospital Colorado and the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System. Beyond campus faculty collaborate with innovative healthcare systems and government agencies regionally and nationally utilizing a robust data environment that includes a campus-wide clinical data warehouse regional electronic health data networks a statewide all-payor claims database and a federal research data center. The Colorado School of Public Health is ranked among the top 20 schools nationally operating as a partnership of the University of Colorado Colorado State University and University of Northern Colorado. Key Responsibilities: Develop productive partnerships with relevant clinical scientific educational and policy organizations related to childrens health on campus and beyond including the Department of Pediatrics in the CU School of Medicine Childrens Hospital Colorado the Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect and the Adult and Child Consortium for Outcomes Research and Delivery System Science (ACCORDS). Publish research manuscripts in leading peer-reviewed journals. Submit research proposals and obtain extramural funding for research. Teach courses in the PhD and/or MPH programs. Mentor graduate students postdoctoral fellows and/or early-career faculty. Advise policy officials administrators clinicians advocates and community representatives to interpret research findings to improve health policies and health systems for children. | |

Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications: This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Associate Professor or Professor tenure eligible based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: Associate Professor: A doctoral degree in health services research public policy health policy health economics or a related discipline. Candidates with a clinical doctoral degree (e.g. M.D. D.N.P. D.P.T. Pharm.D.) should have substantial additional training in health services research or a related scientific discipline. Academic and scholarly accomplishments commensurate with the criteria for appointment at the academic rank of Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Colorado School of Public Health including: o Exceptional record of peer-reviewed research publications. o Strong teaching evaluations and experience mentoring students. o An established program of extramurally funded research as Principal Investigator. o An established record of leadership & service in the fields of health policy healthcare delivery health services research and/or public health practice related to childrens health and wellbeing. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications: Candidates are preferred with a demonstrated record of success in collaborating across clinical scientific educational policy and community organizations and professionals relevant to child health and wellbeing. Examples include collaborations within the fields of pediatrics social work education child welfare public health and mental health. Other preferred qualifications include: A successful record of mentoring PhD students postdoctoral fellows and early-career faculty. Experience developing and leading multi-disciplinary research teams large-scale research projects and center grant proposals. Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Successful candidates will have the ability to design and conduct rigorous quantitative health services and health policy research. Candidates will have expertise that enables them to teach masters and doctoral level classes on topics that include health services research methods health policy development and analysis health management strategies health economics healthcare systems health econometrics and/or economic evaluation methods. Anticipated Pay Range: | The starting salary range for this position has been established at $140000 to $185000 for the position of Associate Professor. The starting salary range for this position has been established at $160000 to $300000 for the position of full Professor. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including but not limited to rank internal equity experience education and area of expertise. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
