About this Position

Performs venipunctures arterial punctures and capillary sampling to obtain blood samples for laboratory testing. Collects urine sample for analysis. Documents collection and processed specimens effectively. Supports the general operations of the Laboratory. Enters orders for testing and accessions specimens in the computer system.

Required Qualifications

  • High School/GED
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • 6 months related phlebotomy experience.

Certifications Registrations and/or Licenses:

  • Valid Drivers License

Skills Proficiencies and/or Knowledge:

  • Proficient in venipuncture and capillary collection techniques.
  • Knowledge of specimen handling labeling and processing protocols.
  • Strong infection control practices and proper use of PPE.
  • Familiarity with phlebotomy tools (e.g. tourniquets vacutainers lancets butterfly sets).
  • Proficiency in EHR documentation and data retrieval.
  • Ability to assess physical and behavioral health needs.
  • Understanding of medication regimens side effects and adherence strategies.
  • Skilled in navigating complex healthcare systems and connecting patients to services.
  • Familiarity with behavioral health screening tools (e.g. PHQ-9 GAD-7).
  • Knowledge of common behavioral health conditions and treatment approaches.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to urgent behavioral health needs.
  • Strong organizational communication and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications Registrations and/or Licenses:
    • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) preferred
  • Skills Proficiencies and/or Knowledge:
    • Bi-lingual highly preferred
