Summary
Join a highly structured supportive educational environment designed for students with emotional and moderate academic needs. This role offers the opportunity to focus on your subject area while working alongside dedicated therapeutic and support staff in a collaborative self-contained classroom setting. Ideal for educators who thrive in specialized environments and want to make a meaningful impact with strong support systems in place.
What Youll Do
Deliver Math or Science instruction to middle and high school students in a self-contained classroom
Develop and implement curriculum aligned to student IEPs and learning goals
Support students with emotional and behavioral needs in a structured environment
Collaborate with teaching assistants and therapeutic staff to support student success
Maintain a consistent classroom structure and learning routine
Participate in a year-round academic model including summer programming
Provide classroom coverage as needed using prepared lesson plans
Experience Youll Need
- Moderate Disabilities 512 licensure (or equivalent Special Education certification)
- Experience teaching middle or high school students
- Ability to teach either Math or Science curriculum (subject-specific role)
- Experience working with students with emotional or behavioral needs
- Comfortable in a self-contained classroom setting
- Experience developing and delivering structured lesson plans aligned to IEPs
Preferred (not required):
Content area licensure in Math or Science
Experience in therapeutic alternative or specialized school settings
