Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in a residential setting helping them achieve maximum independence while promoting health dignity and overall well-being. This role focuses on building meaningful relationships and delivering consistent person-centered care aligned with agency values.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Coordination
Provide nursing care promote wellness and monitor health needs; Coordinate care with doctors clinics and hospitals; Support medical appointments and hospital transitions; Educate individuals and staff on health conditions and care plans; Maintain medical records update EMAR and ensure medication compliance; Train and support staff on medical needs competencies and care plans; Perform specialized care (G-tubes J-tubes trach care); Support medication ordering and inventory processes.
Health Education & Support
Educate individuals and staff on medical conditions treatments and care plans (e.g. allergies medications diet); Provide guidance on chronic and acute health needs; Foster open respectful communication with individuals served families and care teams
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate medical records for all individuals supported; Update EMAR and report medication errors or concerns; Oversee proper disposal of medications and medical supplies per regulations
Qualifications
- RN license in Rhode Island
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Experience with chronic acute and mental health care

Schedule & Benefits
Full Time: 30 hours
Shift:Sunday and Thursday 7am to 7pm; and 6 hours 1st shift on one or more of the following days Monday Tuesday or Wednesday (flexibility needed)
Pay Rate: $39 to $40 hourly commensurate with experience
