What Youll Do:
The marimo growth team is responsible for managing and growing the marimo community playing a critical role in our goal of making marimo the standard Python used by millions of developers around the world. The marimo community is diverse including AI/ML developers backend developers security engineers data engineers data scientists natural scientists professors students and more. The growth teams mandate is to build scalable bottoms-up growth motions across these subcommunities helping them transform their workflows with our next-generation notebook and bringing back feedback to the engineering team. You will be given high autonomy and will be trusted to make a large impact.
About the role:
As a senior developer relations engineer on marimos growth team you will:
- Work smart (and hard) to find high-leverage scalable and measurable ways to grow usage ranging from growth-related software engineering to content creation
- Serving as a technical bridge between Marimo and our users maintaining relationships with key champions and community members
- Organize and regularly attend events in the SF Bay Area (and around the US when needed)
- Build and nurture relationships with partner open-source projects and DevRel teams to co-create content integrations and joint community initiatives

Who You Are:
- 2 years of experience in software engineering
- 2 years of experience in developer relations and growth
- Proficiency in Python with strong fundamentals that are language agnostic
- Technical background in AI ML and data science
- Strong communication skills written and verbal with a proven track record
Preferred:
- Experience with AI coding models
- Experience with growing open-source communities
- Experience with Python notebooks
- Experience with developer tools
- A relentless focus on data-driven methods and efficiency

The base salary range for this role is $165000 to $242000. The starting salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge skills experience and market location. We strive for both market alignment and internal equity when determining addition to base salary our total rewards package includes a discretionary bonus equity awards and a comprehensive benefits program (all based on eligibility).

Our Workplace
While we prioritize a hybrid work environment remote work may be considered for candidates located more than 30 miles from an office based on role requirements for specialized skill sets.
