3rd Shift Fabrications Production Manager

Caterpillar is seeking a 3rd ShiftFabricationsProduction Manager in Brooklyn this role you will guide a teamin the Fabrications and Machining departmentsfor Caterpillar Paving Products with a focus on achieving your teams People Quality Velocity and Cost (PQVC) performance goals!

What you can look forward to in this role:

• Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor; eliminate any unsafe operations and ensure a safe and clean product environment.

• Determineprocessing needs toassurefixturestooling and methods are provided to meet schedules and production requirements.

• Daily tie-in with production management todesignatework load priorities andsequencefor work assigned.

• Determineovertime needestablishpriorities when resources are insufficient and evaluate when disciplinary action is necessary.

• Suggest changes in working conditions anduseof equipment to increase efficiency. Works to improve processestimelinessand reduce costs byeliminatingnon-value-added activities.

• Ensure the quality of product produced andconformsto Caterpillars Quality Policy whilemaintainingcost.

• Implement various corporate initiatives such as 5S Lean Manufacturing 6 Sigma CQMS (Caterpillar Quality Management System) / ISO certification etc.

• Train and develop staff perform time keeping estimate personnel needs assign work meet completion dates and ensure consistent application of organizational needs.

• Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication conceptstoolsand techniques; ability to effectivelytransmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application ofappropriate communicationbehaviors.

• Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring andmaintainingwork in a systematic and highly methodical way.
