Job Summary
Bay Beach Veterinary Hospital in Virginia Beach Virginia is a multi-doctor general practice serving 90% small animals and 10% exotics. We have a strong focus on maintaining exceptional client communication patient care and medical protocol standards and visiting specialists provide echocardiogram and advanced ultrasound services. Bay Beach Veterinary Hospital also has a Emergency Practice sister hospital located just 20 minutes away open 24/7!
Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our this role you will support veterinarians in providing excellent animal care ensuring the well-being of our animal patients while maintaining a compassionate and efficient service.
Hourly Rate: $25- 35 an hour depending onwith skills experience and certifications
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgeries.
- Administer medications vaccines and treatments as prescribed.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures.
- Monitor animal recovery post-surgery and provide necessary care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage client communications.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for animals and staff.
- Provide client education on pet care and health maintenance.
Required Skills:
- Valid Veterinary Technician license in the state of Virginia.
- Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine and terminology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage time efficiently.
- Compassionate approach towards animals and their owners.
- Basic proficiency with veterinary software and medical equipment.
