Heritage NSW is seeking Expressions of Interest for up to five-month temporary assignment opportunity within our Heritage Assessments branch. There are two EO10 positions available:
- Temporary full-time position within the MOU Transport for NSW Team delivering environmental heritage regulatory work and advice under the Heritage Act 1977
- Temporary part-time (0.4 EFT 2 days a week) position within the Planning Referrals and Advice Team responsible for providing heritage planning advice under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 Heritage Act 1977 and the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
Both positions are Practice Leads within their communities of practice and you would be responsible for allocating reviewing and approving assessment work.
Key duties include providing leadership and expert advice on heritage matters overseeing the MoU governance environmental heritage applications facilitating best-practice assessments engaging proactively with stakeholders and efficiently prioritising high-volume tasks.
About You
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished heritage professional with demonstrated experience and comprehensive knowledge of heritage assessment historical archaeology and the planning system.
You will bring:
- Proven experience working in a heritage planning or regulatory environment
- Strong technical judgement and the ability to provide clear defensible advice on complex matters
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes within timeframes
- A collaborative approach and commitment to capability building knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
Key knowledge and experience
Experience in delivering cultural and heritage outcomes with knowledge of associated processes and legislation.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in heritage management/conservation Aboriginal heritage architecture archaeology planning or relevant heritage discipline or demonstrated extensive experience in a relevant heritage field.
- Current Drivers License.
