Responsibilities

Were looking for a Backend Software Engineer to design and build scalable high-performance backend systems. This role is responsible for the development of services APIs and integrations that support mission-critical applications in a high-transaction environment.

• Analyse business and system requirements to design robust backend solutions;
  
• Design develop and maintain backend services APIs and integrations;
  
• Build scalable secure and high-performance applications;
  
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions;
  
• Work with databases and ensure efficient data processing and storage;
  
• Participate in the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC);
  
• Support system integration testing deployment and production support;
  
• Optimise application performance scalability and reliability;
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend QA and operations.
  

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related discipline;
  
• Experience in backend development using languages such as Java or similar;
  
• Familiarity with web technologies APIs and distributed systems;
  
• Understanding of databases data models and system integration;
  
• Experience working in Linux/Unix or similar environments;
  
• Experience with frameworks (e.g. Spring or similar);
  
• Familiarity with microservices containerisation and cloud platforms.
