About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our team working on a high-traffic consumer technology platform. You will build and maintain APIs services and data pipelines that power real-time user experiences at scale.

This is a polyglot role. Our backend spans (Express) and Python (FastAPI Django) with both MySQL and PostgreSQL databases. You will move between languages and frameworks depending on what the problem demands. If you are the kind of engineer who gets uncomfortable being locked into one stack you will fit right in.

You will use AI coding assistants (Claude Code Cursor Copilot or similar) as everyday tools. We expect you to be proficient with them not just familiar. Knowing how to prompt review AI-generated code critically and ship faster because of it is a core part of how we work.

Key Responsibilities

• Write clean testable backend code in TypeScript/JavaScript (Express) and Python (FastAPI/Django)
  
• Design and maintain database schemas and optimize queries for performance
  
• Build and extend APIs that handle real user traffic at scale Use AI coding assistants effectively to accelerate development without sacrificing code quality
  
• Collaborate with frontend engineers DevOps and project leads
  
• Participate in code reviews technical discussions and architecture decisions
  
• Own features end-to-end: from understanding requirements to deployment and monitoring
