Banquet Captain

Lake Mohawk Golf Club in Sparta 471 is looking for one country club banquet captain to join our 97 person strong team. We are located on 471 West Shore Trail. Our ideal candidate is attentive ambitious and reliable.

Position Summary

The Banquet Captain is responsible for supervising banquet service staff executing event timelines and ensuring exceptional guest service standards are maintained at all times. This role works closely with the culinary team and event sales to ensure seamless execution from setup to breakdown.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise banquet servers bartenders and support staff
• Conduct pre-event staff meetings and assign service responsibilities
• Ensure event spaces are set according to BEO specifications
• Oversee food and beverage service during events
• Act as primary on-floor contact for members and guests
• Coordinate with kitchen to ensure proper timing and presentation
• Maintain professional appearance and service standards
• Assist with training and mentoring team members
• Ensure proper breakdown and cleanliness post-event

Qualifications

• 2 years of banquet or upscale hospitality experience
• Prior supervisory or captain experience preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple events and timelines
• Professional demeanor with strong member-focused service approach
• Availability for nights weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift 30 lbs and stand for extended periods
