Job Summary

The MGB Pharmacy Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the supply chain operations of the MGB Pharmacy Departments. This role includes managing the procurement inventory management distribution and logistics of medications throughout the organization while maximizing value and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role will also provide direct oversight to local site buyers to ensure alignment with MGB strategies and best practices.


Qualifications

  • Manage pharmacy buyers at local sites and provide leadership direction and support ensuring they follow established procurement protocols and align with overall supply chain goal
  • Establish and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical vendors and suppliers to ensure supply of medications throughout the organization
  • Partner with the MGB Pharmacy Contracting team to drive financial value to MGB
  • Drive supply chain strategies to optimize the procurement and distribution of pharmaceuticals across all MGB pharmacy locations
  • Maintain inventory tracking systems and technology to enhance accuracy efficiency and reporting capabilities
  • Provides leadership guidance and serve as a role model to those professionals under his/her supervision.
  • Supervises and directs the daily operations of pharmacy purchasing services. Schedule and assign staff.
  • Serves as a resource person regarding pharmacy policies to pharmacists physicians nurses and other hospital staff.
  • Participates in on-call responsibility as assigned.
  • Responsible for staff development and performance evaluation.
  • Assists in the recruitment interviews and training of new staff.
  • Participates in the development of policy and procedures.
  • Conducts educational programs in-services and staff meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards

Education

  • Bachelors Degree Pharmacy required or Doctor of Pharmacy required

Licenses and Credentials

  • Pharmacist State License - required


Experience

  • Related Pharmacy management experience 2-3 years required and Related Pharmacy management experience 3-5 years preferred


Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Must have excellent verbal written and quantitative skills.

  • Displays a comprehensive knowledge of department operations.

  • Shows knowledge of the pharmacology of drugs and the legal aspects of dispensing.

  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills to educate and supervise staff normally acquired after three to five years of related hospital experience in a progressive large health care organization and through self-directed education.

  • Can work accurately and make decisions under stress and with time constraints.

  • Strong attention to detail.
