TheBilingual Therapist (Licensed Therapist Psychologist or APCC/AMFT/ACSW) East Palo Altoisresponsible forclinical interviews treatment plan development and psychotherapy for children with suspected mental health concerns.Therapy may be individual dyadicfamilyorgroup-based. Providing educational workshops at CHC and within the community on topics ofexpertiseisan option as well.
This Bilingual Therapist opportunity will be primarilylocatedat CHCs Ravenswood campus in East Palo Alto but may include provision of contract-based services at local schools. This position is an ideal fit for a candidate who is passionate about providing community-based mental health services to historically under resourced communities. This position is a strong match for someone whodesiresto incorporate social justice and preventionworkinto the delivery of mental healthservices andis passionate about providing services to populations that are primarily bilingual and bicultural.This position currently reports to theClinical Program Manager.
EssentialFunctions:
Conduct comprehensive clinical interviews with parents andclients andsynthesize/disseminatesignificant information to team membersinCHCs Ravenswood campus in East Palo Alto.
Develop and deliver psychological treatment plans for childrenteensand their families which may include individual dyadic family parent/collateral and group therapy and behavior management.
Coordinate clinical care with other disciplines including SLP OT educationpsychologyand psychiatry.
Conduct in-service training and seminars at CHC or within the community including continuing education and parent education as requested.
Attend CHC clinical staff and team meetings and clinical consultation groups as assigned and serve on committees as needed to ensure program and service quality.
May include providing contract-based services and consultation to local schools in East Palo Alto (Pre-K through 8).
Adhere to all mental health legal and ethical mandates and guidelines in the execution of duties includingtimelycompletion of charting billing reportpreparationand ethical/confidentiality issues as outlined by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists National Association of Social Workers and/or the American Psychological Association.
Participate in IEP conferences and other school meetings toassistschool personnel in understanding client issues and rationale for implementation of recommendations when clinically valid.
Meet productivity expectations as assigned by the Division Director.It is expected that the therapists will be at full productivity at the completion of the 3rdmonth.
Maintain commitment to child safety mandated reporting duty and professional boundaries.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested byDivisionDirector.
Knowledge/Ability/Skills:
Knowledge and understanding of CHCs four areas of expertise: ADHD LDanxietyand depression andAutism Spectrum Disorders.
Knowledge and skills in child adolescent and family therapies caseformulationsand treatment planning (ideally in a community mental health setting).
Required:Bilingual English/Spanish
Experience working with diverse clients/populations; exemplifies cultural humility.
Ability to offer after-school hours to clients/families.
Excellent time management and material organizational skills.
Ability to work inteam-oriented environment.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with bothclientand colleagues.
Flexibility to respond to changing circumstances and priorities within the agency.
Knowledge and use of computers and an Electronic Health Record (EHR) is essential.
Education/Experience:
APCC/AMFT/ACSWRequired.
LMFT/LCSW/LPCC/PhD (or license eligible) from an accredited graduate school preferred
Experiencein at least one of these settings: a pediatric clinic a school-based setting or a community mental health settingpreferred.
Adherence to all professional ethical legal and confidentiality issues outlined by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists National Association of Social Workers American Psychological Association California Board of Behavioral Sciences California Board of Psychology and State and Federal laws (e.g. HIPAA).
Physical Requirements:
An employee in this position maybe requiredto occasionally lift move and/or set-up stacks of documents such as training binders or other training materials laptop computers in-focus projectors flipchartsand other materialsfor training sessions.
