Field Technician (CMTInspection)

IMEG is hiring a Field Technician in Rock Island IL or Peoria IL to perform routine field tasks as directed by the Construction Manager with work checked by others during and after this first-level trainee role you may be assigned to a construction project to serve as a construction observermaking field measurements completing documentation entries and reading and interpreting plans.

Principal Responsibilities

• Perform basic field inspection testing and documentation

• Support construction observation activities including field measurements documentation entries and reading/interpreting plans

• Assist with on site or laboratory testing of soils concrete and hot mix asphalt

• Attend training to achieve various certifications

• Operate company vehicles

• Maintain equipment and vehicles

• Observe safety and security procedures

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Associates degree or certificate in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred

• Prior experience in the building design consulting or construction industry

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos

• Ability to write simple correspondence

• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization

• Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals

• Ability to read a tape measure in both fractions and tenths

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form

• Must be able to work as part of a team

• Must always maintain professional conduct

• Valid drivers license required with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier

• Advanced/Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook

Salary Range $51000 - 84000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant.
