AWS CloudFront is looking for experienced Software Development Engineer to join our team for critical Infrastructure and Customer Observability initiatives!

At AWS CloudFront working on systems with global scale is a daily part of the job. We solve hard problems. We build reliable scalable low-cost systems that serve our ever-growing customer base. We are constantly shipping features that drive innovation in the CDN market. We deliver highly secure platform to serve not only video from the edge but a wide variety of use cases.

Key job responsibilities
- Design and architect new systems from scratch or enhance existing infrastructure owning the technical direction from conception through deployment. Define system requirements evaluate trade-offs and make critical architectural decisions that impact CloudFronts global infrastructure.
- Mentor and guide team members in solving complex technical challenges with elegant scalable solutions. Conduct design reviews provide technical coaching and raise the engineering bar across the team.
- Drive strategic initiatives to improve security posture and availability of CloudFronts infrastructure. Identify systemic risks propose innovative solutions and lead cross-team efforts to implement improvements at scale.
- Participate actively in both hands-on development and rigorous code reviews.
- Write high-quality maintainable code while ensuring team output meets production standards for performance security and reliability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across CloudFront to align infrastructure roadmap with business priorities and customer needs.

About the team
The CloudFront Infrastructure Service Team ensures high availability of CloudFronts connectivity to customer origins. We maintain global infrastructure using secure high-throughput and cost-effective hardware platforms.

Our diverse team of technologists prioritizes customer needs innovates technologies and balances creative prototyping with rigorous production development.

- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team

- 5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
