IT Systems Administrator

Job Summary
CAE is looking for a hands-on proactive IT Systems Administrator to keep our Nordic training centres running securely reliably and at peak performance. Youll combine solid systems administration with on-the-ground supportowning the day-to-day technology experience across Stockholm Copenhagen and Oslo with occasional support to other European locations.
This role is based in Copenhagen but is a travel-based role with a strong on-site presence across Stockholm Copenhagen and Oslo ensuring consistent high-quality IT service delivery. You will need to be happy to travel most weeks to other locations. Our dedicated remote teams provide first-line support and network operations so you can focus on keeping the environment stable modern and continuously improving.
What youll do:
Core systems administration (Nordic sites)
Own and maintain the server environment across Nordic sites (Windows Server Active Directory Group Policy DNS/DHCP file/print services).
Administer and optimise cloud services including Azure Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online.
Coordinate with our dedicated network team to keep connectivity secure stable and resilient.
Monitor patch and harden systemsapplying cybersecurity and compliance best practices.
Drive backup disaster recovery and business continuity planningthen test it so it works when it matters.
Manage user accounts permissions and access controls in line with company policies.
Keep documentation diagrams and asset inventories current for all Nordic locations (Lucidchart SharePoint OneNote).
Automation & Copilot
Spot opportunities to automate repetitive work and deliver solutions using scripting (PowerShell Python) and automation platforms.
Use Microsoft Copilot and other AI-powered tools to streamline IT operations speed up support and improve the employee experience.
Stay current on emerging automation and AI capabilities and help champion whats valuable in the Nordic IT environment.
Advanced support & project leadership
Provide 2nd-line support for Nordic sites solving complex issues escalated from the service desk.
Deliver hands-on on-site support: onboarding/offboarding device setup (PCs iPads) and classroom technology support.
Plan and deliver upgrades migrations and deployments (hardware and software) with minimal disruption.
Lead or contribute to regional/global initiativesespecially infrastructure refreshes and security improvements.
Create and deliver clear technical training and knowledge sharing for local staff and end users.
Work with vendors and service providers on procurement support and contract management.
Strategic & cross-site ownership
Align local IT operations with business priorities and global IT standards.
Run regular site visits to assess infrastructure health end-user needs and compliance.
Continuously improve processes to raise reliability security and service quality.
Contribute to regional IT budgeting and smart resource allocation.
Minimum Qualifications
Several years of experience in systems administration and/or senior IT support roles (typically 5 years).
Handson experience with Windows Server Active Directory Microsoft 365 and core networking concepts.
Experience supporting cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
Experience applying modern security patching and compliance practices.
Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues using a structured approach.
Experience managing small technical projects endtoend.
Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Ability and willingness to travel frequently between Nordic sites.
Existing legal authorization to work in Denmark (work permits cannot be provided).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with automation and scripting (e.g. PowerShell Python).
Experience using AIenabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot in an IT operations context.
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE) Azure and/or CCNA.
Experience supporting multisite or geographically distributed environments.

Location & travel
Based at the CAE Training Centre in Copenhagen Denmark.
Regular travel across the Nordics (and occasional international travel) is part of the role.
Candidates must have existing rights to be work in Denmark we will not be able to provide a work permit
