Software Engineer – Systems (Experienced and Senior)

The Boeing Company is looking for Software Engineer Systems (Experienced and Senior) to join our team in Berkeley Missouri.

This position supports a cross-functional engineering team primarily comprising software engineering and there will be opportunities to cross-train to enable technical growth and continued learning. The candidate may have the opportunity to interface directly with customers and end users present at design reviews and to senior leadership and make an impact at a program level. This role will also be performed while utilizing a cross-functional Agile framework.

This position requires proven experience within the software ecosystem a unique background of project experience and the clear exhibition of judgment and decision making to engineer new solutions and capabilities.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Senior Level Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

• Apply excellent communication skills as this position will work with many technical and non-technical personnel and will need to be well-versed in creating and maintaining good relationships; this role will operate in a cross-functional Agile framework.

• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the overarching system and the interrelationships among all positions and activities; includes assessing the impact of changes in one area on others recognizing the connections between system components and plans anticipating future events and applying system thinking principles to enhance overall performance

• Completes software system-level analyses to identify risks issues and opportunities; integrates and deploys mitigation actions throughout the software lifecycle

• Monitors and reviews test completion verification processes and issue resolution for software systems

• Develops user documentation and training to educate end users about usage of software products

• Reviews product and process for alignment with project plans and industry standards by tracking and evaluating internal team and supplier performance

• Implements current and emerging technologies tools frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development

• Performs software project management and software supplier management activities

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelors degree in engineering discipline

• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship

• 3 years of experience with project management

• 3 years of experience with Agile Framework enterprise (SAFe) or Agile in general

• 3 years of experience with software development using either Java C or Python

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology) Computer Science Data Science Mathematics Physics Chemistry

• 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• 5 years in a technical leadership role

• Experience in managing requirements of DoD contracts

• Experience with software architecture and development processes

• Experience in formal Agile Leadership role(s) (Product Owner Scrum Master etc.)

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range for Experienced Level (Level 3): $118150 - $159850

Summary Pay Range for Senior Level (Level 4): $147900 - $200100
