School Counselor, St. Patrick, Tacoma

Saint Patrick Catholic School (SPCS) is a PreK-8 Catholic elementary school in the Archdiocese of Seattle. The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate a commitment to working with a talented and motivated student population and faculty. SPCS fosters amongst its administrators faculty members staff and students a commitment to embrace and celebrate the diversity of the schools family and the broader community.

Counselor:
This role involves providing individual and group counseling implementing social-emotional learning programs supporting students in crisis and collaborating with teachers parents and administrators to create a nurturing school environment rooted in Catholic values. The counselor will also coordinate with external resources lead parent education workshops and contribute to a school culture of empathy and inclusion. Candidates should have a masters degree in counseling or a related field with a preference for those holding a Washington State ESA certification and experience in Catholic education.

Qualifications/Competencies:

• Masters degree in School Counseling Psychology Social Work or a related field.
• Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certification preferred.
• Previous experience working with PreK-8 students in a school counseling setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development social-emotional learning and behavioral interventions.
• Knowledge of Catholic teachings and a commitment to fostering a faith-filled school environment.
• Excellent communication collaboration and problem-solving skills.

• Works with the Principal Vice Principal Diverse Learning Strategist parents students faculty & staff and the SPCS community

Start Date: August 26 2026
Salary Range: $69826 - $104163

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data applicants skills and prior relevant experience degrees and certifications.
