Another Sources clientUniversity of Oregon is recruiting aDirector of Developmentfor the College of Arts and Sciencesto join their team in Eugene Oregon.This is a fully onsite role when not focused on donor visits and external engagement with an average of approximately one week of travel per month.

    As the Director of Developmentfor the College of Arts and Science you will play a key frontline fundraisingroleadvancing philanthropic support for the University of Oregon.In this role you will manage a portfolio of major gift prospects focusing on gifts in the $100K range and lead all aspects of the donor lifecycle-from identification and qualification to cultivation solicitation and stewardship. You will partner closely with colleagues across University Advancement and academic units including the College of Arts and Sciences to align donor interests with institutional priorities and maximize philanthropic impact.

    You will serve as a highly collaborative and externally facing representative of the university regularly engaging with donors alumni and stakeholders.This role requires frequent travel and proactive outreach to build relationships and advance giving conversations.

    This position is ideal for a motivated fundraiser who enjoys being in the field building connections and executing strategy. You will contribute to broader development planning efforts while personally driving results and helping grow a strong pipeline of future major and leadership gift donors.

    Your Contribution Will Likely Include:

    Fundraising & Portfolio Management

    • Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects focusing on gifts at the $100K level and drive all phases of the donor lifecycle from identification through stewardship
    • Develop and execute strategic individualized cultivation and solicitation plans to secure significant philanthropic support
    • Proactivelyidentify qualify and build a pipeline of new prospects through research outreach and engagement
    • Lead andparticipatein donor meetings making compelling cases for support aligned with university priorities
    • Travel regularly to engage donors and prospects building strong trust-based relationships

    Strategy & Collaboration

    • Partner with colleagues across University Advancement and academic units to align fundraising strategies with institutional and unit priorities
    • Collaborate with teams including annual giving gift planning principal gifts and prospect development to maximize donor engagement and outcomes
    • Contribute to the development and execution of broader fundraising strategies and campaign initiatives
    • Utilize data reporting tools and prospect insights to inform strategy andoptimizeportfolio performance

    Relationship Building & Stewardship

    • Build andmaintainmeaningful relationships with alumni parents and friends of the university to deepen engagement and inspire giving
    • Ensure thoughtful andtimelystewardship of donors reinforcing long-term relationships and ongoing philanthropic support
    • Partner with faculty deans and campus leaders to effectively connect donors to high-impact opportunities
    • Represent the university with professionalism and credibility in all external interactions

    Planning & Execution

    • Set and achieve annual fundraising goals in alignment with team and institutional objectives
    • Support planning and execution of donor events engagement opportunities and stewardship activities
    • Maintainaccuraterecords of donor interactions and activity in CRM systems
    • Contribute to an inclusive collaborative and mission-driven team culture

    Experience You Will Bring:

    • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 3 years of professional fundraising experience OR 5 years of related experience (e.g. sales business development)
    • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and successfullysolicitgifts or close complex deals
    • Strong organizational and portfolio management skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively across a complex organization
    • Commitment to diversity equity and inclusion
    • Ability and willingness to travelfrequently

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in higher education development
    • Experience working with volunteer boards
