Job Objective & Responsibilities:
To co-ordinate support andadvisethe business on all aspects with regards to Health and Safety. Toestablish manage andmonitorstandards processes communicationstrainingand systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety within the ABM TfL BSS contract are adhered to.
Main Duties:
- To visit review and inspect safe working practices of night team who clean and maintain TfL bus stops and stands
- Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health
- Ensure that all health and safety policiesproceduresrulesand regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed updated and communicated.
- Ensure the company meets its statutory obligations in all areaspertaining tohealth safety and welfare at work including statutory training and reporting.
- Work proactively with managers and other key staff toestablishand maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of health and safety within their areas of responsibilitywhich includes conducting regular inspections.
- Ensure that all accidents are documentedinvestigatedand recommendedimprovements implemented.
- ProvideABM staff with comprehensive and relevant information and training onABMhealth and safety systems and procedures including advising on workplace practices.
- Deliver training sessions on key areas ofABMactivity in relation toHealth andSafety and support the delivery of other training programmes includingnew staffinduction.
- Ensure that all agreed action points are completed within deadlines.
- Provide regular reportstotheSeniorManagement team on relevant health and safety activities.
- Participate in monthly meetings whenrequiredto report on relevant health and safety matters.
- Health and safety audits and inspections measuring performance againstABMshealthandsafety managementsystem.
- Updating and reviewing of risk assessmentsmethodstatementsandCOSHHassessments.
- Comfortable to work inhigh riskenvironments such as trainDepotsandStations.
- Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.
- Prepared to work permanent night shiftsincluding weekends.
EssentialCompetencies:
- Appropriate experience of operating in a similar role within a largeorganisation
- Ability to work alone during night hours in public spaces
- Self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to organise workloads and to prioritise effectively.
- ITliterate with the ability to use a full Microsoft Office package.
- Well versed in the risk associated with Anti-Social behaviour and de-escalation
- NEBOSHCertificateor equivalent
- IOSHManagingSafely trained
- Proven written and oral communication skills and the ability to articulate information and influence others.
- Proficient in handling of health and safety investigations.
- Experience of delivering training sessions.
- Full clean UK driving licence.
DesirableCompetencies:
- Member ofIOSH(advantage)
- AccreditedIOSHtrainer.
