This role is based in the People & Culture (P&C) Team within the Operations Division at UNSW.
Why Your Role Matters:
As a Regulatory Specialist P&C you will play an important role in coordinating UNSWs response to wage compliance-related regulatory inquiries audits and investigations.
Working alongside the Head of Regulatory Response you will gather insights into work practices and data to create responses to wage-related regulatory matters as per audits and reporting obligations preparing high-quality submissions for regulators such as TEQSA FWO and the NSW Department of Industrial Relations. This role leverages existing investigation outcomes and collaborative working relationships across P&C team and wider University to support the delivery of strategic and operational regulatory and compliance objectives.
Your focus:
- Coordinating the drafting of documentation reports and regulatory submissions that confidently demonstrate UNSWs compliance with all legal and statutory obligations.
- Driving crossfunctional collaboration with HR Finance Legal and People & Culture to gather insights analyse data and strengthen organisationwide compliance capability.
- Supporting the delivery of frameworks and continuousimprovement initiatives that enhance UNSWs regulatory readiness systems and compliance posture.
- Managing stakeholder engagement and enquiries on wage compliance matters
- Analysing and evaluating documentation (reports data sets payroll data) to assess compliance of UNSWs obligations to the Enterprise Agreements and legal requirements.
Who You Are: This role is well suited to a Regulatory Audit or Compliance Specialist however we also encourage those looking to step into the area with HR ER experience or a relevant Data/Business Analyst background to apply.
You will hold the following skills & experience:
- A relevant tertiary degree with experience in compliance and regulatory reporting.
- Demonstrated experience preparing high-quality submissions for external regulators including meticulous attention to data integrity confidentiality.
- Proven capability of working with compliance-related systems and datasets
(e.g. HR/payroll case management and document control). - Advanced written and verbal communication skills with excellent time management and ability to respond to priorities.
- Capability to interpret and apply relevant legislation industrial instruments and regulatory guidance is beneficial.
- Capacity to operate independently within defined objectives exercising sound judgement in sensitive high stakes matters and influencing stakeholders at governance forums
