Job Summary
Summary: The Quality Engineer is considered a Facilitator who represents QA and the business. They are responsible for supporting quality management systems quality improvement projects key customer activities supplier improvement and continuous improvement projects. Works cross functionally to standardize the quality management system through day-to-day quality and continuous improvements activities for the facility.
Primary Duties:
-QA reporting on product quality & process capabilities
-Problem Solving/Root Cause analysis of field failures and providing results to Design Engineering and or QA Manager
-Layered Process Audits- and provide the feedback to continuous improvement
-RMA assistance in coordinating with purchasing and sales to communicate customer issues
- Support Demco Quality Management System by assisting in document control procedure writing quality auditing calibration control activities preparation of 3rd party external audits
- Drive changes and improvements to quality management system including development of new procedures and work instructions.
- Support document control system including publication and distribution of new documents.
- Manage Engineering Change Notice (ECN) and product deviations
- Support and coordinate issuing corrective action requests (CARs) to suppliers including follow-up and closure.
- Assist manufacturing shop floor with corrective action resolution for internal key performance indicators KPIs and external customer issues including warranty customer complaints and ISO findings.
- Work with manufacturing shop floor and other departments on problem-solving initiatives and link actions and outcomes to QMS Control Plans PFMEAs plant inspection points and customer returns.
- Data collection and reporting.
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 6S and LPA audits.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Knowledge of problem-solving and quality methodologies (root cause analysis 5 why Six-Sigma Lean etc.)
- Must be quality and customer oriented
- Knowledge of quality standards ISO 9001 and good manufacturing practices preferred
- Familiarity with quality management systems control plan and internal auditing
- Must be able to work independently and drive issues to closure
- Flexibility to work within a dynamic team and provide training to others
- Strong verbal/written communication interpersonal and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills for maintenance of documentation and data
- Skilled in the usage of Microsoft Office (Word Excel etc.) Microsoft Access databases Microsoft SharePoint or Quality Database Management Systems
- Flexibility to multitask and prioritize work on an independent basis in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
