Global Sourcing Category Manager - CAPEX (Construction and Equipment)

Develop and execute global sourcing and procurement strategies for capital investments with a primary focus on construction and MedTech and Pharma manufacturing and process equipment representing a combined annual spend of $340M. Drive end to end category strategy supplier selection and contract negotiations to secure optimal commercial terms while ensuring alignment with internal stakeholder needs. Leverage deep market insight industry trends and risk mitigation strategies to inform decision making and support continuous improvement across sourcing processes. Build and maintain strong partnerships with key business stakeholders to ensure current and future operational and strategic requirements are met. Provide leadership to a small high performing team delivering coaching mentorship and performance management to cultivate capability development and excellence.

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing and category management strategies aligned with global and regional business objectives.
• Lead crossfunctional collaboration with property teams EHS manufacturing AME engineering quality and core business stakeholders to ensure aligned decisionmaking and seamless project execution.
• Manage supplier relationships negotiate contracts and ensure suppliers meet all quality regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Conduct market and industry research benchmarking and competitive analysis to support informed sourcing decisions.
• Drive initiatives focused on cost optimization risk mitigation operational continuity and sustainability.
• Lead or support supplier transitions audits capability assessments and performance evaluations.
• Monitor category performance metrics and implement continuous improvement strategies.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies quality systems governance frameworks and legal requirements.
• Provide leadership coaching and mentorship to team members or direct reports to support capability development and high performance.
• Support and contribute to global and regional sourcing programs transformation initiatives and strategic projects.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Sourcing or Category Management with a knowledge base equivalent to a Bachelors degree from an accredited university plus at least eight years of experience in Sourcing Category Management in equipment and construction.
• Proven track record in Indirect Sourcing including capital equipment services or related categories.
• Proven experience leading global sourcing and category management activities including strategy development supplier selection and execution across multiple regions.
• Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation including SOWs pricing structures commercial terms and supplier agreements that deliver optimal outcomes.
• Demonstrated peopleleadership experience including managing developing and coaching direct reports or project teams to achieve high performance.
• Strong ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organization leveraging analytics and insights to build business cases influence senior leadership and drive change.
• Proficiency in developing complex RFx packages shouldcost models scorecards and award criteria.
• Excellent oral written and interpersonal communication skills with strong analytical and problemsolving capabilities.
• Proven project management skills and the ability to document plan execute and communicate programs effectively.
• High level of adaptability urgency and integrity with the ability to perform in a dynamic fastpaced environment.
• Strong technical proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Fluency in English with other languages a plus.
• Ability to travel and engage with global stakeholders outside typical business hours when necessary.

Desired Characteristics

• Subjectmatter expertise in CAPEX Facilities Construction Architecture manufacturing and process equipment ideally in an FDA regulated Med-Tech and/or Pharma environment
• Strong leadership influencing and stakeholdermanagement capabilities.
• Experience working in diverse multicultural environments with an appreciation for crosscultural nuances.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within crossfunctional teams building strong and trusting partnerships.

• Exceptional strategic thinking problemsolving and criticalanalysis skills.
• Experience assessing and mitigating global supply chain risks.
• Lean/Six Sigma certification or experience with processimprovement methodologies.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering highquality results under pressure.
• Proficiency with sourcing systems procurement tools and digital platforms.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% as required.

It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills qualifications experience and addition this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
