Job Summary

Overview

The Director Senior Directorof Global Healthcare Value & Access (gHCVa) Contractoris responsible fordeveloping and operationalizing relevant strategies forpipelineassets in developmentfocusedinorphanand Senior Director will be responsible to ensure the asset in development targets the area of highest unmet need.

The role willprovidestrategic direction globally to ensure assets in developmentsecurea price point that is reflective of the innovation being commercialized. ThegHCVaDirector Senior Directorwill work closely with global and regional cross-functional development colleagues as well as affiliate-level colleagues responsible for commercializing assets in development todevelop an integrated evidence generation plan that will supportthe differentiating value proposition of the responsible fordelivering onasset-specificprojectssuch aspayer& related-stakeholderresearchdefining the value proposition informing pricing strategy & communication evidence generation & synthesissuch as disease burden studies global value dossier and global health economic position is part of Global Scientific Operations(GSO)whichalso includes Global Epidemiology&Real WorldEvidenceand Global Medical Affairs. The three functions within GSO collectively inform the scientific narrative thatdefinesandaddressesunmet need informs the value proposition andidentifieswhere in treatment strategy the asset in development helps to optimize patient and health system outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • For assets in research or development:

  • identifyareas of high unmet needworking with GEE and GMA as well as other cross-functional colleagues as needed.

  • Define evidence generation requirements toquantify unmet needhowassetsprojected efficacy is to positivelyeffectpatient and health system outcomes.

  • Conduct payer research to inform pricing andevidencerequirements to address areas of high unmet need.

  • Provide guidance to cross-functional colleagues including new product planningtomaximize value of a given asset(indicationprioritization).

  • Engage external experts (former or currentpayersandHTA assessorsclinical thought leaders); to better understand stakeholderperspectivearound unmet need and how to effectivelyoptimizethe assets value proposition.

  • Draftassetsvalue proposition; inform the assets target product profile; work with cross-functional colleagues as needed to inform the assets development programs across stage gates (including Ph 1 Ph2and Ph 3).

  • Seek input from regulators through EMA HTA joint scientific advice to inform anassetsdevelopment program.

  • Engage with regional and affiliate market access colleagues and other cross-functional colleagues as needed to develop global market access-related deliverables such as the global value dossier and relevant economic models.

  • Establish global pricing and policy strategy.

  • Inform asset launch sequence and early market access programs.

  • Act as subject matterexpertiseon market access trends in major markets thatimpact onpricing potential and reimbursement for a given asset in development.

  • Ensure value optimization ismaintainedpost asset launch by working across regions toidentifyadditionalevidence generationrequiredto bolster theassets globalvalue proposition.

  • Conduct and or support special projects as needed to stay current on global market access trends and implications to Shionogi portfolio.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Advanceddegreesuch asMSc and/or PhDpreferred.

  • Minimum of 3-5years working in an affiliate-level Market Access teamwithin the pharmaceutical biotechnology or healthcare industry(preferablythe US).

  • Minimum of 7-10years working in global Market Access teams within the pharmaceutical biotechnology or healthcare industry.

  • Current on the latest market access trends including Joint Clinical Assessments and rapidly evolving pricing policies such as MFN.

  • Deep subject matterexpertiseon the US healthcare system specific to market access preferred.

  • Demonstratedexpertisein developing and executing market access plans for pipeline assets in various disease areas such as orphan diseaserequired.

  • Experience conducting market-access relatedstudies such as burden of disease studies modeling systematic literature reviews and meta-analysesrequired.

  • Proficiencyworking with clinical outcome assessment measures.

  • Exhibit strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and execute a strategic vision forgHCVawithin GSO.

  • Demonstrate exceptional collaboration and teamwork skills working effectively with global and regional cross-functional teams including Development ClinicalNew Product PlanningCommercial Medical Affairs Regulatory EpidemiologyandReal WorldEvidence and Market Access.

  • Possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong presentation skills to deliver compelling presentations and represent the organization at conferences.

  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels within the organization.

  • Ability to engage and build strong relationships with external stakeholders including but not limited to thought leaders and academic experts.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects prioritize tasks meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities. Proficient in resource allocation budget management and project planning to ensure successful execution ofprojects.

Additional Information

The hourly rate for this position is $130- $200. Individual pay is determined by several factors which include but are not limited to: job-related skills experience and relevant education or training. The range does not include the comprehensive benefits bonus applicable allowances or any additional compensation that may be associated with this role.
