Job Summary

The Paramedic/LPN to RN Pathway Coordinator collaborates with the Nursing program director and Dean for Health Sciences to develop implement and oversee the innovative pathway program which allows paramedics and LPNs to pursue the AAS Nursing degree and become eligible for Registered Nurse (RN) licensure. The position combines recruitment instruction planning academic advisement strategic scheduling and program coordination responsibilities.
Essential Functions
Recruit qualified paramedics and LPNs for pathway participation.
Work with content experts to develop curriculum materials and instructional resources for creating/adapting Nursing courses for accelerated summer delivery.
Provide academic guidance and mentoring to transition pathway participants.
Collaborate with the Nursing Clinical Coordinator to plan and evaluate clinical experiences in rural healthcare settings.
Participate in instruction of Nursing courses based on need and academic qualifications.
Track student outcomes including completion rates certification exam success and employment.
Engage with nursing faculty to ensure seamless program integration.
Establish/maintain relationships with EMS providers and healthcare employers.
Develop marketing and promotional materials for the transition pathway.
Assess and document prior learning for transition pathway applicants.
Participate in application review and selection of transition pathway students.
Support development oversight of programs and services that result in enrollment progression retention and graduation growth for the service area.
Assists with grant-related documentation data collection and reporting requirements.

Education Training and Experience
Required:
Masters degree in Nursing.
Current unencumbered Tennessee Registered Nurse license or immediately eligible.
Minimum three (3) years full time equivalent experience in nursing education or clinical practice.
Experience with adult learners and non-traditional students.
Working knowledge of EMS/paramedic scope of practice and training.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Preferred:
Paramedic certification or EMS background.
Experience in rural healthcare settings.
Prior involvement with development or curricula and/or educational materials.
Grant program management experience.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to relate to a diverse faculty staff and student population.
Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and community members.
Ability to function effectively as a member of a team.
Ability to apply strong classroom teaching skills using a variety of instructional delivery modes.
Ability to travel to various campuses and clinical sites and locations.
Working Conditions
A minimum workweek of 37.5 hours which may include a combination of day evening and weekend hours at any of the institutions locations.
Normal sitting and movement in a classroom
The ability to manipulate and move equipment from one location to another.

Hiring Salary Range:$51520 - $61830

This position is based at the Columbia TN Campus.

*This position is funded through the Tennessee Higher Education Commissions (THEC) Rural Health Care Pathways Expansion (RHCPE) grantRural RNs Rise (R3): Growing Caregivers which ends 7/31/2029. Funding of the position beyond the grant period is not guaranteed.
