Position Summary:Engineering manager will oversee the scheduling and completion of shop drawings by the engineering department. This includes developing andmaintainingcompany policy drawing standards and department budgets.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Lead prioritize and oversee the daily workload of the engineering team to ensuretimelyandaccuratecompletion of shop drawings
- Ability to readandunderstandarchitectural documents including the ability todeterminethe millwork scope requirements.
- Must be able toidentifyerrorsand/or omissions on architectural drawings and request clarification.
- Must be able toidentifyerrorsininternal shop drawings.
- UseMicrovellumToolbox Standard softwareORsimilar cabinet software ( Vision and/or Cad Cam) to produce detailed andaccuratemanufacturing drawings from architectural plans and specifications.
- Apply knowledge of standard building construction methods to supportaccurateandfeasibleshop drawings.
- Communicate with other departments(Project Management Production Installation Estimating Sales)to ensure details of a project are understood and/or to address concerns make updates as neededand meet project schedules and budgets.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in afast-paceddeadline orientated environment.
- Maintain work area organized and orderly ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop implement andmaintaincompany policies drawing standards and best practices within the engineering department
- Manage departmental scheduling and workflow ensuring resources are effectivelyallocatedto meet project deadlines
- Coach mentor and develop engineering team members including providing feedback and supporting performance management
- Participate in hiring training and onboarding of engineering staff as needed
- Bachelors degree in Architect and/or Engineering orpreviousrelevant experience.
- 5 years of related work experience(millwork and casework drafting required).
- 5 years of experience working with AutoCAD 2010 or higher and 2 years of experience withMicrovellumsoftware
- Previousexperience and knowledge of building millwork and/or caseworkproducts ispreferred.
- Previousexperience withInnergyis preferred.
- Previousexperience withBlueBeamor comparable PDF software preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Excel).
- Possess a positive and professional attitude
- Salary: $70000 - $90000 Salary commensurate upon experience.
- Job Type: Full Time. Shift Mon- Fri 7:00am - 4:00pm .(with additional hours as needed).
