The Role

As a Lecturer you will play a key role in designing developing and delivering engaging teaching across a range of Exercise Physiologist and Nutrition modules. Youll support students on campus contribute to assessment and quality assurance and be involved in scholarship and continuous curriculum improvement.

We are seeking anExercise Physiologistwith the confidence and expertise to lead Level 5 and Level 6 physiology modules. The successful candidate will deliver a suite of engaging laboratory practicals includingskinfold assessments CPET (Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing) and blood lactate samplingand demonstrate the application of these methodologies to core physiological concepts.

The role requires a versatile practitioner capable of translating theory into practice across bothhigh-performance sport and clinical populations. Furthermore a background or additional expertise in Sport Nutritionwould be highly advantageous fostering interdisciplinary synergy and strengthening the broader curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures seminars and tutorials in line with curriculum standards
  • Develop and update teaching materials and maintain digital learning platforms
  • Set assess and provide feedback on student assignments and exams
  • Support students academically and pastorally including those with learning support needs
  • Engage with quality assurance processes contribute to module and programme evaluations
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
  • Lead modules and coordinate with associate lecturers where applicable

What Were Looking For

Essential:

  • A Masters degree in a relevant sport-related field
  • Experience teaching in Higher Education with strong digital teaching capability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of HE quality assurance and validation processes
  • A flexible student-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Willingness to work towards HEA Fellowship (if not already held)

Desirable:

  • PhD (or near completion) or equivalent industry experience
  • Research or enterprise activity involvement
  • Teaching qualification
  • Experience leading modules or academic teams

Working Hours & Flexibility
