General Purpose:
The flour packer is responsible for the effective andefficient packaging of milled product including the set-up changeover andminor maintenance of the flour packing equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates and maintains efficient performance onflour packaging line while meeting quota.
Ensures that flour transfer is made from correctflour bin.
Ensures that only good quality packed product enterswarehouse.
Ensures all bags are folded sealed and wrappedcorrectly before leaving packaging area.
Completion of ongoing checks of code dates andcorrection of any problems to ensure that each packed bag leaving the packagingarea is readable and dated correctly.
Ensures bags are dated correctly before enteringwarehouse.
Ensures changeovers and adjustments are made toaccommodate different bag sizes.
Ensures all packed products are stacked on skids ina correct way according to pattern.
Ensures all skids with packed product are numberedto provide an easy identification in case of call back.
Performs quality assurance checks as per outlinedprocedure.
Fills out production reports.
Maintains good sanitary condition in working areaand packaging equipment while packaging is in process as well all re-run/feedbags being emptied at warehouse dumping station.
Leaves packaging area and equipment at end of shiftin a clean sanitary condition with all re-run/feed bags being emptied atwarehouse dumping station.
Maintains all production machinery in good operatingcondition in co-operation with Maintenance Department. Advises supervisor of problems.
Corrects and cleans upany spills of product in the product transfer system being used (plug-upsbroken lines etc.).
Reports sanitation issues to supervisor.
Is aware of critical controlpoints as they relate to product liability.
Responsible for compliance withCanada Labour Occupational Health and Safety requirements and company safetystandards.
Follow Good Manufacturing (GMPs)while performing job duties and tasks.
Performs all other related duties includingtraining as required.
REQUIREMENTs:
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Self-motivated team player with astrong work ethic able to work independently as well as with cross departmentalteam members.
Forklift experience an asset.
Strong Computer skills.
Ability to lift up to 25 kg on a repetitive basisand work in hot and or dusty environments.
Available for shift work as well as work onweekends holidays and call outs as required.
