Responsible for setting up and operating a 6 to 8 color flexographic printing press DPI camera inspection system and related inspection equipment according to written and/or verbal instructions established company procedures safety requirements and quality guidelines. Capable of resolving printing problems and maintaining the mechanical operation of the press to keep quality registration color consistency and production speed at optimum levels. Must have a strong understanding of inks solvents and printing on a variety of substrates. Experience operating and troubleshooting DPI camera inspection systems is required to ensure print quality and defect detection throughout the production process.
FUNDAMENTAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Receives production order and job assignments from lead. Reads order to verify quantity to run overrun tolerance color sequence and substrate.
Obtains substrate cylinders plates inks (water-base and UV) and related supplies needed to produce job.
Sets up operates and monitors DPI camera inspection equipment to verify print quality registration color consistency and detect defects during production.
Checks setup registration die cutting and color against approved proof or print.
Secures approval for production run.
Maintains continuous inspection of job specifications and quality throughout production run collecting production run samples as required. Completes production records.
Troubleshoots and resolves printing and inspection system issues to minimize downtime and maintain quality standards.
Solves printing problems.
Ensures proper cleanliness of press workstation DPI camera equipment and immediate press area by returning unused ink to ink shelves removing trash rags and extra material.
Able to read review and understand technical drawings blueprints and proofs.

Minimum 5 years of flexographic printing experience Required
Minimum 2 years of experience operating and troubleshooting DPI camera inspection systems in a flexographic printing environment Required
High school diploma or GED Required
Experience in label manufacturing Preferred
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to manage multiple tasks while keeping presses and inspection systems running efficiently.
Detail oriented.
Works well with hands; good fine motor skills.
Works well with limited supervision.
Good communication skills.
Mechanical aptitude capable of diagnosing problems utilizing core concepts and able to execute basic repairs and supervise vendor repairs.
Computer skills Ability to navigate through a Windows-based computer system and perform basic tasks such as saving files printing files retrieving files/folders and operating DPI camera inspection software.
Good judgment of color design and print quality.
Experience interpreting and responding to DPI camera defect reports and inspection data.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
High school math skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.
Bending and twisting for up to 10 hours.
Standing and walking for up to 10 hours.
SHIFT AVAILABILITY
Training will take place on first shift (6:00 am 2:30 pm). Position will be assigned to second shift starting at 2:00 pm and ending at 12:30 am with a 30-minute lunch and two breaks working Monday through Thursday. Overtime may be required.
