Open Position: Middle School Spanish Teacher
Reports to: Director of the Middle School
FLSA Status: Exempt
When Needed: 2026-2027 Academic Year
FT/PT/R/T: Full/Time Regular-Academic Year

Job Summary:
Under minimal supervision and on a full-time basis teaches Middle School level Spanish courses as needed.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Teaches four sections of Middle-School level Spanish
- Provides classroom instruction and management
- Serves as an advisor in the middle school
- Collaborates with colleagues students parents and administrators as appropriate
- Actively participates in the life of the school including participating in an overnight trip chaperoning activities helping with lunchroom supervision etc.
- Is familiar with and comply with all policies and regulations as put forth in the schools documents
- Establish and cultivate community relations by maintaining open dialogue with all the schools constituencies
- Vigorously engages in their own professional development
- Since safety and security are everyones responsibility takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students faculty staff equipment materials and facilities
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university in Spanish Language or Spanish Studies required
- Masters degree preferred
- 3 years teaching experience preferred
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Fluency in both Spanish and English required
- Flexibility enthusiasm and adaptability to meet the needs of the students and program
- Commitment to teaching the whole child
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of the developmental needs of Middle School-aged students
- A working understanding of Universal Design for Learning and Understanding by Design concepts
- Commitment to diversity equity and inclusivity
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Ability and flexibility to use Microsoft Office Suite Google Workspace learning management systems online meeting and conferencing applications and operating Audio/Visual equipment.
- Ability to work and communicate well with all levels of faculty and staff
- Ability to work and communicate well with students and their parents
