Field Geologist

Job Summary
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct geological field investigations including mapping sampling and logging.
- Analyze rock soil groundwater and geophysical data
- Prepare technical reports maps and cross-sections
- Support mineral energy or environmental exploration projects
- Ensure compliance with safety environmental and regulatory requirements
- Perform various field activities on geotechnical projects including but not limited to pile load testing field electrical resistivity testing and soil logging.
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of pile load testing (PLT) procedure.
- Communicate with members of the team on project progress and issues that arise.
REQUIRED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
- Possess strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity pressure and a variety of field conditions.
- Experience with data analysis and technical reporting.
- Strong organization problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education High school diploma or equivalent required relevant post-secondary degree in Geology Earth Science or a related field preferred.
Experience and/or Training Two years related experience
Licenses/Certificates Drivers license
Technology/Equipment Microsoft Office
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work/Environment
Will be a combination of office field and laboratory environments. Often times will be a jobsite environment which can be outside in all weather conditions and/or tightly enclosed areas and can have uneven walking surfaces. May also be using computer telephone other office equipment as needed to perform duties; frequent interruptions throughout day likely.
Travel Requirements
Position requires offsite travel (locally and throughout United States) typically 75% annually.

Compensation Range:
