Community and Employer Engagement Specialist
Job Summary
The Community and Employer Engagement Specialist is responsible for creating and supporting awareness of WorkConnect services to employers and community organizations. The Community and Employer Engagement Specialist helps the community access services through the referral process promoting local job creation and labour market development and develops partnerships to meet the diverse needs of individuals employers and the community. The Community and Employer Engagement Specialist monitors local labour market demand and development and acts as a bridge for this information back to the team. This role actively ensures WorkConnect Employment Services contributes to an inclusive and progressive economy by helping employers and communities develop a strong workforce. The Community and Employer Engagement Specialist takes the lead role to develop and deliver business spotlight events job fairs and Ask Me Anything sessions throughout the year.
What youll do
- Conducts outreach services providing program information to new and current community agencies and service providers each month
- Leads service initiative events and activities to engage community and clients with WorkConnect services
- Provides professional services effectively through face to face (in centre and outreach) virtual (telephone and using online tools) and written methods
- Engages in local business associations and committees and participates in community and employer events to achieve WorkConnect program goals
- Represents WorkConnect and develops program awareness through the marketing of services within Calgary to community organizations
- Leads service initiative events and activities to engage community and clients in WorkConnect services
- Familiarizes potential clients with tools and resources available
- Maintains directory of community services; keep up to date on relevant
Qualifications :
What you bring
- Demonstrated experience marketing programs to and building partnerships with employers community agencies and other stakeholders
- Experience in providing workforce development information to employers; assessing employer needs and recommending appropriate supports and resources
- Strong digital literacy skills including Microsoft Office Suite and for example in using social media to promote service access to community and employers
- A reliable vehicle valid drivers license and the flexibility and ability to work in different locations in Calgary North and South Office
- Post-secondary certificate degree or diploma in business or marketing
- Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) designation
- Proficiency in French and/or other languages in addition to English
- Established relationships with employers and/or community organizations within Calgary
