• Provide individualized survival swim instruction to swimmers with ASD
  
  
• Teach essential water survival skills including breath control floating rolling and self-rescue techniques
  
  
• Adapt teaching methods to support sensory sensitivities and communication styles
  
  
• Collaborate with parents to support consistency and progress
  
  
• Maintain a calm structured and positive learning environment
  
  
• Document swimmer progress and provide feedback
  
  
• Ensure the highest level of safety standards at all times
  
  

• Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  
  
• Background in special education ABA occupational therapy speech therapy or related field (preferred)

• Strong communication skills with both children and parents
  
  
• Patient energetic and dependable

• Experience with sensory integration strategies
  
  
• Understanding of visual supports social stories or alternative communication methods
  
  
• Ability to remain calm and regulated in high-stress situations

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities most of our students are preschool and elementary-aged kids. Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. Its helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job but its not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.
