Laboratory Technician (Wet Chemistry) - Novi MI

Job Description Lab Technician

• Reviews LIMS summary reports to plan and organize daily work
  1. Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) when conducting following work:Performs sample preparation and procedures prior to analyses
  2. Performs some basic testing procedures
  3. Identifies any non-routine samples and seek guidance on procedures for handling
  5. Meets quality and TAT specifications required by the client and ensure samples are analyzed withinholding time requirements
  6. Identifies and communicates procedural non conformances to Supervisor
  7. Employs proper laboratory techniques to minimize risk of mislabelling sample mix-up and crosscontamination between samples and other materials
  8. Provides general lab support
  9. Provides supervisor/manager with updates on workstation status including advance notification of anydelays
  10. Adheres to Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics Policy
  11. Supports and complies with all Bureau Veritas policies Quality System and Health & Safety program
  12. Participates when requested in department and health and safety meetings
  13. Participates when requested in internal and external audits
  14. Keeps work area clean neat and organized
  15. Maintains training records and relevant qualifications
  16. All other responsibilities as assigned

Required Experience Education Certifications

High School degree or equivalent

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

The ability to follow established protocols for analysis and safety. Comfort working with/aroundconcentrated acids and using required PPE. Availability for overtime work on evenings and weekends tomeet client workload demands. Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently. Proficiency withMicrosoft Word and Excel. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Willingness to cross-

train in other laboratory departments as needed. Ability to maintain a clean and organized laboratoryenvironment.

Hourly Rate: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
