Who We Are

ASNA is the premier training center for high-quality high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN) services and education. Since 2005 we have altered an average of 20000 animals annually and trained more than 6500 veterinary professionals and student externs at our Asheville campus. As a highvolume clinic and teaching hospital we help agencies nationwide openoperateand sustain high-quality spay/neuter programs and we provide extensive free online training through ASPCAProand ASPCA Learn. In this roleyoulltake charge of our internal resource library which empowers our staff to shine in their roles as animalcaregivers.Youllcraft classroom presentations for our students that transform complex concepts into practical skills that make a real impact. Andyoullcreate engaging and effective resourcesto share with our network of spay/neuter clinics (and beyond!) to make a significant difference for cats and dogs nationwide.

Where and WhenYoullWork

  • The position is an on-site role and reports to the ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance campus in Asheville NC.

  • Typical hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays.This role requires flexibility in schedule to accommodate program needs which could include varied daily shifts weekendseveningsand holidays.Schedules are subject to change at the sole discretion of the ASPCA.

  • Ability to travel up to 5% as needed

Compensation

Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to education training experience location business needs internal equity market demands or budgeted amount for the role. The target hiring range is for new hire offers only and staff compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. The expected hiring salary range for this role is set forth below and may bemodifiedin the future.

The target range for this position is $28.85 - $31.25 hourly.

Responsibilities:

Responsibility buckets are listed in general order of importance. They include but are not limited to:

Internal Resource Library Management

  • Create and format internal-facing documents standard operating procedures staff training and employee resources

  • Ensure accuracy quality and consistency across internal documentation

  • Oversee documentation workflows for ASNA staff including review and updates

  • Manage the internal resource library to ensure materials are current accessible and easy to use

Visual Design

  • Design and format external-facing teaching resources marketing materials and presentations to clearly communicate information and reflect the ASPCA brand

  • Design campus signage to create a cohesive visit experience

  • Simplify complex concepts data and stories into informative digestible visually engaging materials that clarify our mission and maximize our impact for our internal and external audiences

  • Collaborate with Creative Strategy & Branding to ensure all assets and collateral are visually consistent and adhere to the ASPCA Brand Book

Administrative

  • Participate and contribute updates during team and departmental meetings and work cross-functionally with other members of the team

  • Engage in consistent and regular reporting to manager including giving and receiving effective feedback

  • Other responsibilities as required by manager

Professional Development and Organizational Support

  • Fully engage in the self-performance management process including annual reviews regular feedback sessions required compliance training and goal setting

  • Under the supervision of the DOL and in respect to related job duties under the Programs Team umbrella ensure:

  • Program policies and strategies that support ASNAs high standards of quality and best practices

  • All aspects of operations are enforced with campus-wide consistency and adherence to all federal state and local regulations

  • A positive learning environment across campus supportive of ASNA culture

  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director Educational Content or the ASNA Senior Leadership Team

Qualifications

  • Excellent eye for detail

  • Fluency in Microsoft PowerPoint Word and Excel required

  • Strong sense of written language

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work quickly under pressure

  • Ability to process constructive artistic feedback and work independently

  • Ability to share knowledge and train others in best practices and protocols

  • Excellent organizational project management and time-management skills required

Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma GED or equivalent

  • 3 years of professional experience in graphic design or bachelors or associates degree in related field required

  • Experience with Adobe InDesign Photoshop and Illustrator required

  • Experience with branding and ability to adhere to company design guidelines for brand style colors fonts etc. required

  • Experience in photography and/or videography including Premiere Pro a plus

  • Experience working in Canva or similar software a plus

  • Portfolio must be submitted with application to showcase recent engaging design work
