Dalton Motors services Dalton Subaru National City Dalton Hyundai National City and Dalton Toyota National City and is located less than 20 minutes from most areas of San Diego. Founded in Guadalajara in 1945 Dalton Motors is a family owned and operated business with over 30 dealerships serving major manufacturers including Subaru Toyota and others. They are continuing the legacy of Frank Motors an automotive and community presence since 1965. Dalton Motors has a large and well stocked parts department and a Service Development Center (SDC) dedicated to setting and reminding customers of their service have extremely knowledgeable and experienced service advisors who are highly productive and use to working in a fast-paced customer friendly environment. We have ongoing training for our staff including technician and service advisor/consultant training from the manufacturer new product on-line training and job specific training by our in-house trainer. Our service and parts areas run very smoothly in large part due to our solid processes and trained skilled staff many of whom have been at the dealerships for twenty years or more.

Pay Range: $17.00-$21.00

Position Summary

The service porter is responsible for organizing the vehicles in the service area assisting customers and supporting the service departments daily operations. This role ensures that the vehicles are properly parked serviced and ready for customer pickup contributing to an efficient workflow and positive customer experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for preparing the customers vehicles for entry into the service area
• Delivering the customers vehicle to the technicians
• Retrieving vehicles from service area for delivery and parking the customers vehicle in the customer pick-up area
• Ensuring that the customers vehicle is driven through the alignment/tread depth checker and a printout has been generated
• Maintaining a neat clean and safe service drive and shop area
• Safe and careful handling of customer and dealer owned vehicles

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid drivers license with a safe driving record.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
• Positive attitude strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal directions
• Must be able to work well with others
• Must have some customer service experience
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Professional personal appearance
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
• Possess the energy and drive to accomplish goals meet deadlines and find solutions
• Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
