Job Summary
Job Title: Building & Equipment Maintenance Technician (Electrical Focus)
Overview
This role is responsible for maintaining the safety functionality and efficiency of buildings equipment and electrical systems. The technician performs routine inspections repairs and preventive maintenance across multiple trades including electrical mechanical and general facility upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and repairs on building plumbing and electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and building infrastructure.
- Install maintain and test electrical wiring fixtures and control systems.
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs promptly.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory.
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety codes and building regulations.
- Assist with general labor tasks such as painting carpentry and landscaping.
- Other Duties as assigned by supervisor or leadership.
Required Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
2 years of experience in building maintenance or electrical repair.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems tools and safety protocols.
Ability to read blueprints schematics and technical manuals.
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and work in varied conditions.
Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
Preferred Certifications
Electrical Technician Certification
HVAC or Plumbing Certification
OSHA Safety Training
Work Environment
Industrial commercial or residential facilities
May require shift work on-call availability and working at heights or in confined spaces
