Job Summary

Position Title: Major Gift Officer

Reports To:â ChiefPhilanthropyOfficer
Location:âOn Site at 990 Eddy Street San Francisco
Employment Type:âFull-time in-person

Summary:
As our Major Gifts Officer you will designdevelopand implement our major gift program and playa crucial rolefocusing on achievingCCSFsmajor gift fundraising and planned giving program Major Gift Officeris responsible formanaging a portfolio of major donors and prospects to advance the mission and goals ofCatholic Charities SanFranciscoThispositionis responsible foridentifyingnew prospects as wellascultivatingand managinglong-term relationshipssolicitingsignificant gifts and ensuring excellent donor stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designingandimplementing a Major Gifts Strategyand moves managementprocessworking with the CPO to align efforts andtoset goals and metrics
  • Identifyingand cultivating potential Major Gift Donorsprospect researchand develop and manage tailored cultivation planswith aclear written strategyand timelineforcultivationsolicitationand stewardship.
  • Managinga portfolio of major donors and prospects.
  • Evaluatinggift opportunities and giving vehicles to align donor interests withorganizational needs
  • Make direct face-to-facesolicitations and securing major giftcommitments.
  • Assist CPO CEO and Board with portfolio development support strategicplanningand donor communications.
  • Ensure excellent stewardship through consistentstrategicoutreach and recognition includingmaintainingstrong relationships with current and potential donors keeping them informed aboutthe use and impact of their gifts
  • Preparingand presenting effective proposalsfor prospects and donors
  • Manage systems andRaisers Edge to track and cultivate prospects and donors
  • Preparing detailed reportsto trackmajor gift program progressusing specific metrics
  • Collaborate with staff responsible for gift processing and finance to ensure proper recording allocation documentation acknowledgement stewardship and analysis of major gifts and pledges.
  • Develop and implement personalized cultivation solicitation and stewardship plans.
  • Demonstrate a solid ethical frameworkexhibitingintegrity accountability and a strong work ethic that aligns with the organizations values
  • Collaborate with internal teamsand programsto align donor interests with funding opportunities.
  • Coordinatewith other team members toensurethat all donor communication is consistent and coordinated
  • Meet or exceed annual revenuemeetingand engagement goals.
  • Implement stewardshipplan including acknowledging major donors through public and privaterecognition.
  • Work with Director of Marketing and Communications on all print and web-based supporting materials for planned giving programs and stewardship and attendingfundraisingevents
  • Manage systems andmaintainaccuratedonor recordsand reportsand to trackand cultivate donors and prospectsintheRaisers EdgeCRMhigh levelofexpertisein RE strongly preferred
  • Ensure all interactionscomply withdata protection and fundraising ethics standardsand best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree inrelevant subject area suchascommunications business or nonprofit management (Masterspreferred).
  • 35 years of fundraising experience with a focus on majorand planned gifts.
  • Strong communicationand presentation skills.
  • Strongproficiencyandexpertisewith donor management softwareRaisers Edge
  • Proventrack recordof meeting or exceeding fundraising targets.

Compensation:â$130-140000 annually
