To be successful as our new PAL Coordinator you will:
Have a Degree in Kinesiology with a focus on psychomotor behaviour and exercise rehabilitation
Design and implement innovative cognitive and physical exercise programs for residents both individuals and in groups
Collaborate with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to ensure resident goals are met
Be familiar with completing resident transfer assessments
Collaborate with external partners in order to provide exceptional service to our residents
Provide leadership and supervision of Kinesiology Co-Op placements Students and Volunteers who assist with the PAL program
Facilitate education sessions such as lift & transfer body mechanics active living
Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents families and team members
Understand the physical mental and emotional demands of the role
It would be an asset if our new PAL Coordinator has:
Registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
Knowledge of relevant policies procedures legislation regulations and best practices a Experience and/or desire to provide educational sessions/ seminars
Demonstratedexperience working with seniors and/or persons with cognitive or physical impairments
Experience working in the retirement and long-term care sector (e.g.. School placement)
