Location & Schedule

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site this position you can expect to work on site at least 3-4 days per week at the WorldPort Building (24735 E. 75th Ave. Suite 100 Denver CO 80249). Free on-site parking is provided.

The Special Projects Division delivers complex large-scale long-term capital programs for Denver International Airport utilizing alternative delivery methods such as CMGC Design-Build etc. and concurrently oversees contracts for multiple programs with a divisional goal of delivering projects on time and on budget. This is a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on key contracts at DEN and be an integral member of a fast-paced diverse and close-knit team.

The Special Projects division is seeking a highly skilled self-motivated team player with outstanding relationship-building problem-solving and negotiating skills to perform contract administration duties and be the face of the airport to many vendors and contractors. This position will manage and administer a complex portfolio of contracts in a way that promotes transparency timeliness and accuracy.

This role will work closely with internal stakeholders including Directors the Project Team the Contracts team and DEN Finance to manage contracts task orders change orders encumbrance processes invoicing contractual compliance and other day-to-day administrative tasks. This position will also perform research and analysis over contract terms performance and fiscal management.

Specifically as the Contract Administrator you will:

  • Administer and perform compliance on Professional Service and Construction Expenditure Contracts throughout the entire contract life cycle including administrative tasks fiscal tasks tracking research analysis Task Order initiation and closeout along with invoicing and record retention.

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal team members Contractors and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time within budget and ensure payment and contractual obligations are met while providing a high level of customer service.

  • Review track process and electronically file of all necessary project program fiscal and contractual information according to established contractual requirements divisional procedures document control procedures and document retention schedules.

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience skills and characteristics:

  • High level of attention to detail and strong reasoning skills specifically with understanding interpreting analyzing and applying conclusions to contractual agreements.

  • Experience administering or performing compliance on Professional Service and/or Construction Contracts.

  • Demonstrated skills in understanding and interpreting contractual requirements and applying contractual and fiscal compliance principles.

  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to present recommendations findings and information to both peers internal leadership other internal stakeholders and external stakeholders.

  • Proven track record of applying continuous process improvement to established procedures and providing recommendations for improvements along with documentation of processes.

  • Familiarity with fiscal management platforms such as Workday or similar systems Microsoft Excel and project management or payments systems such as Unifier and Textura.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Bachelors degree in Business Administration Public Administration Political Science Management or a related field.

  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional experience performing contract negotiation contract administration or conducting research and analysis in an area such as budget compliance issues or accounting.

  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
